FILIPINO FOOD OREGON AT THE WORLD BEAT FESTIVAL

  1. DESCRIPTION

The Filipino Food Oregon aims to increase appreciation of Filipino cuisine among foodies in Oregon, with spotlights on local Filipino restaurants, food carts, food trucks, as well as specialty food establishments that offer Filipino food ingredients.

This year, the Philippines is the featured country at the World Beat Festival. The Philippine Department of Tourism, together with the Department of Trade and Industry and the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco will participate in the Festival and will get booths to feature Filipino food and non-food vendors, with the theme “Boracay Beach Vibes”.

  1. OBJECTIVES
  2. To promote Philippine tourism through gastronomy and cultural heritage among mainstream Americans and Filipino Americans
  3. To promote culinary tourism, which will encourage the market to visit the Philippines for an authentic Filipino cuisine experience.
  4. To highlight Filipino food ingredients that are available in the US, which will also help increase export of these products to the US.
  5. To highlight Philippine festivals and dances of different regions to entice the market to experience it in the country
  1. REQUIREMENTS/DELIVERABLES
  1. Coordination with the World Beat Festival (WBF) organizers. PDOT will be securing booth spaces with tables and chairs, which will be paid directly to the organizer.
  2. Event Management for the following activities:

-Philippine Pavilion – Theme: Boracay Vibe

-Entertainment at the Amphitheatre

  • Design and set-up of the booths
  • Coordination with the food vendors who will participate at the Philippine Pavilion and Filipino Food Week
  • Feature a Filipino-American Chef at the WBF who can do a cooking demo and give out food samples
  • Marketing and Promotions of the Filipino Food Oregon
  • ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATION OF BIDDERS
  • A reputable US-based integrated marketing communications agency company with strong nationwide influence both online and in traditional media.
  • Has experience working on corporate and social events.
  • Has social media, custom content marketing and distribution capabilities

  1. EVALUATION PROCEDURE

The winning bid shall be selected not solely based on the amount of bid. The PDOT San Francisco Office shall also consider the creative presentation. Coverage, marketing value and content of the proposal for the above requirements.
