@travelandleisure just called the Philippines one of 2026’s fastest-growing wellness destinations, and honestly, it tracks 🌊🧘‍♀️

A trip here can look like yoga by the water, surfing before breakfast, a quiet island retreat, or doing absolutely nothing somewhere that looks like this.

At this El Nido island stay, your day can start with spa time tucked into the trees or a swim with Palio Sea views. Then head out to kayak or snorkel from the resort, and take a sunset walk through the island’s nature trail.

Or, just relax in the tub and enjoy the views.

It's the kind of Philippines trip that actually recharges you ✨

This isn't the kind of tattoo you pick off a wall.

In Kalinga, batok is tapped into the skin by hand, a tradition passed down through generations of mambabatok. The designs can hold meaning tied to identity, protection, beauty, strength, and personal story.

At the center of it is Apo Whang-Od Oggay, who turned 109 this year and is recognized as the oldest living mambabatok of the Butbut people. Her apprentices, including her grandnieces, are carrying the practice forward.

Condé Nast Traveler (@cntraveler) recently spotlighted Buscalan, where travelers make the trip not just for the tattoo, but to understand the place, the practice, and the people behind it.
